With the help of generous donors, Hosparus Health once again made the holidays a little brighter for our Kourageous Kids and their families. The annual Holiday Party in December featured delicious food, crafts, fun and fellowship. Businesses and community volunteers came together to help these amazing kids and their loved ones make the most of this special time of year, despite their health challenges.

Nearly 180 guests enjoyed pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus, as well as face painting and cookie decorating. Our Kourageous Kids patients (and their siblings) received many of the items on their wish lists, including everything from board games to battery-powered cars. St. Matthews Baptist Church graciously hosted us again, and Texas Roadhouse donated and served yummy barbecue sandwiches along with all the fixings. The party would not have been possible without the incredible generosity of several corporate and foundation donors, who bought and wrapped all the gifts.

Hosparus Health’s Kourageous Kids pediatric program has been caring for medically fragile and terminally ill children since 1980. Families at the party shared how meaningful it was to spend a few hours with the KKids staff – many of whom have become like family members themselves – not having to worry about their child’s illness, and just feeling the joy of the season.
