(LOUISVILLE, KY) — Hosparus Health Grief Counseling Center extends a heartfelt invitation to community members who are coping with the loss of a loved one to participate in its upcoming grief programming, including a Grief Art Workshop and “Hope for the Holidays series and the annual “Service of Remembranceceremony.

Grief Art Workshop Series

The Grief Counseling Center’s Grief Art Workshop series is open to individuals and families aged 6 and up. These hands-on classes are held at the Hosparus Health Grief Counseling Center, 3525 Ephraim McDowell Drive, Louisville, KY 40205, on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Doors open at 9:30 a.m., and light morning refreshments will be provided. Pre-registration is required for each free session. For questions or phone registration, please call 888.345.8197.

Hope for the Holidays Adult Program

The Hope for the Holidays program consists of sessions that address various aspects of the holidays and provide a platform for meaningful conversations, sharing, support, and practical suggestions during this special time of year. Both in-person and virtual options are available to assist adults in navigating their grief due to loss during the holiday season.

The in-person program, led by trained grief counselors, will be held at the following locations and times:

  • Wednesdays, from 1 to 2:15 p.m.
    Hosparus Health Grief Counseling Center

    Louisville, KY 40205
  • Wednesdays, from 6 to 7:15 p.m.
    Hosparus Health Resource Center, Republic Bank YMCA
    1720 West Broadway
    Louisville, KY 40203

The program covers the following topics:

  • November 1: Expectation and Anticipation
  • November 15: Gratitude and Grief in the Season of Thanksgiving
  • November 29: Reconsidering Rituals and Traditions
  • December 13: Tapping Resilience — Managing Expectations and Holiday Stress
  • December 27: Holding Space and Being Present
  • January 10: Grief Resolutions for the New Year

For those who prefer virtual options, the Grief Counseling team offers sessions on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. (EST), including:

  • November 8: Gratitude and Grief in the Season of Thanksgiving
  • November 29: Tapping Resilience — Managing Expectations and Holiday Stress
  • December 13: Reconsidering Rituals and Traditions
  • January 3: Grief Resolutions for the New Year

Pre-registration is required, and adults are encouraged to attend individual sessions or the entire series. Service of Remembrance

Hosparus Health will hold its annual Service of Remembrance on Sunday, November 19, at 4 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 3926 Poplar Level Road in Louisville. This service honors and celebrates the memories of loved ones who have passed away over the past year. The event will include inspirational words, comforting music, and a memorial ceremony. Guests may stay after the service for a reception with light refreshments.
