Center releases first quarter group counseling schedule with sessions addressing grief in the new year.
(LOUISVILLE, KY) — For those grieving, facing a new year without a loved one can be a difficult challenge. Hosparus Health Grief Counseling Center wants to remind members of the community they don’t have to face their grief alone.
The center’s 2023 programming begins with a small group gathering for adults heading into the new year after a loss. Hope for the Holidays: Grief Resolutions for the New Year will be a chance for participants to share their grief journey and receive practical support from a licensed grief counselor.
Grief Resolutions for the New Year will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023. Two in-person sessions are scheduled from 1 to 2:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at the Grief Counseling Center 3526 Ephraim McDowell Drive, Louisville, KY 40205. Visit https://bit.ly/2022hopeholidays to register.
Hosparus Health is committed to grief counseling and provides services at no cost for up to 13 months after the death of a loved one previously in the organization’s care. Grief services are also available for anyone in the community, regardless of a previous engagement with the not-for-profit organization. Thanks to generous support through grants, foundations and individual donors, fees for these services are determined by sliding scale (based on income) and can include financial assistance for those unable to pay, and there are no fees for support groups.
Upcoming support groups and special programs have been scheduled through March 2023 to provide those who have experienced loss with special programming and ongoing support groups for the new year. Group programs are offered in-person and online and provide a space to gather and create community with others who have experienced loss. Led by licensed professionals, sessions meet once or twice monthly. Services are available for adults, children, and teens.
