Hosparus Health Names Tawanda Lewis Owsley VP of Development

Hosparus Health is pleased to announce Tawanda Lewis Owsley has been hired as vice president of development for the not-for-profit hospice and palliative care organization. In her new role, she will lead all fund-raising efforts, including strategy, donor cultivation for capital and major gifts, planned and annual giving, special events and other initiatives designed to increase access to care for seriously ill patients and their families in 41 counties across Kentucky and Indiana.
Owsley has 18 years of experience in philanthropy leadership and health care development. She previously served as executive director for the Bluegrass Chapter of the American Red Cross, where she built successful strategic partnerships that supported the organization’s expansion efforts. Earlier in her career, she served in key fund-raising roles with major health systems, including Norton Healthcare, KentuckyOne Health, and Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center.
Owsley earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Louisville and her master’s degree in business communication from Spalding University. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, Counsel for Advancement and Support of Education. She has been recognized as one of Business First of Louisville’s Forty Under 40, Louisville Magazine’s People to Watch and as a Today’s Woman’s Way to Go Woman.
