  • News

Ongoing program to meet on the second Monday of the month, beginning April 10

Coping with the death of any family member is difficult, but losing a child can be especially devastating. That’s why the Hosparus Health Grief Counseling Center (GCC) will offer a new monthly grief support group for parents, grandparents, guardians and other adult family members who have lost a child under age 22 within the past three years. “Child Loss” is a free educational and support group for any adult who has experienced the death of a child. The new group will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month beginning April 10 at Hosparus Health GCC, 3526 Ephraim McDowell Drive.

The purpose of the group is to help participants move through the grief that is unique to experiencing the loss of a child. Group members will be invited to share their stories in a safe setting, examine the many ways grief impacts them and be empowered to use coping methods that lead to healing.
Pre-registration is required, and participants may join the group at any time. The group facilitator will contact participants prior to their first meeting. To register or for more information, call 502-456-5451 or 1-888-345-8197.
