  • News

Hosparus Health is pleased to welcome Dustin Dillon, MD, to our medical team. As Associate Medical Director, Dr. Dillon will provide clinical care to pediatric patients in our Kourageous Kids program. He will also serve as an inpatient palliative care physician at Norton Children’s Hospital in downtown Louisville.

Dr. Dillon earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, and completed his pediatric residency and fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine at Northwestern University. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Hosparus Health’s Kourageous Kids, the first and oldest pediatric hospice program in the country, provides a complete continuum of advanced illness care to families supporting sick children through an interdisciplinary team approach. The Kourageous Kids team is an extension of the child’s healthcare providers, offering an additional layer of support in the home. In his new role, Dr. Dillon will help grow this established program to care for more children and their families coping with life-limiting illness.

“Dr. Dillon is bringing a new level of pediatric expertise to our organization, which will greatly impact our Kourageous Kids team and the Kentuckiana area we serve,” said Bethany Cox Snider, MD, Kourageous Kids Senior Medical Director. “I know he will help us serve more families while elevating the quality of care we provide to our Kourageous Kids patients and families. We are elated he chose to come back to Kentucky!”

“The care provided in hospice is the reason I entered the medical field,” said Dr. Dillon. “I am excited to join Hosparus because I will joining a team that shares the same goals as me in caring for patient and families facing serious illnesses. I hope to bring a new perspective to the medical team, as I am a pediatrician and have extra expertise in treating children and guiding families through terrible times. I also hope to continue build on our educational mission to improve hospice and palliative medicine care within our own team and the community.”
