The Harshaw Family Grief Counseling Center
- Uncategorized
The Hosparus Health Grief Counseling Center’s spacious new 7,000-square-foot design includes offices, gathering rooms, and specialized grief therapy spaces to support people of all ages. Surrounding the Center is approximately 60,000 square feet of calming outdoor space with walking paths, benches, and meditation elements. These amenities are designed to help the client cope and find peace during their grief journey. Estimated completion date is late 2023.
Grieving is a hopeful and deliberate choice we make because we want to be happy again. When we choose to grieve, we are choosing hope, because we’ve decided to take the necessary steps to move through the pain (over time) and start living again.

The Need
We extend Hospice Health grief counseling services to those grieving the loss of a loved one who was not in our care. Our trained professionals provide counseling sessions for individuals and families and facilitate support groups and grief programming for all ages. Thanks to our generous donor support, no one is turned away due to an inability to pay for services. Many of our community clients utilize our sliding scale and fee waivers. Our team currently works out of a converted single-family home. Unfortunately, this limited space makes support group activities difficult and limits the capacity of what our counselors can offer to their clients. While the team has done its best to maximize the current space, providing these critical services in an area specifically designed for mental healing would better serve the community.
