New group program options are available, and most insurance is now accepted for grief counseling services.

(CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY) — Hosparus Health Green River, a leading provider of hospice, palliative care, and bereavement services, is proud to announce the expansion of its Grief Counseling Center to reach even more members of the community navigating grief due to loss. The nonprofit organization now accepts most insurance plans for its grief counseling services. This initiative marks a significant milestone in ensuring invaluable resources are accessible to anyone in need of support through the grieving process.

Hosparus Health Grief Counseling Center’s services are provided at no cost to patients’ family members of all ages during hospice care and up to 13 months following their loved one’s death. For community members who did not receive hospice support from Hosparus Health, the organization now accepts most major insurance to help remove financial barriers that may have previously hindered people from accessing the support they need during times of grief due to loss.

“Our organization has spent the past 45 years committed to inclusion and equity – caring for patients of all ages and backgrounds. We ensure everyone who needs us has access to our crucial grief support services, regardless of their ability to pay,” said Amy Hill, Executive Director of Counseling Services at Hosparus Health. She further highlighted the comprehensive nature of the organization’s grief support services, stating, “Our trained professionals provide in-person and telehealth appointments, offering private individual and family counseling sessions, support groups for trauma and loss, and community education about the grief process.”

At the forefront of this expansion in Green River is Christy Morris, LCSW, MSW, a seasoned grief counselor with a wealth of experience in the mental health field. Christy attended Campbellsville University where she earned a master’s degree in social work in 2015, and her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice administration in 2007. With over seven years of extensive experience in diverse settings including outpatient clinics, crisis intervention, and residential care, Christy brings a deep understanding of mental health challenges to her role as a grief counselor at Hosparus Health.

“I truly feel privileged to walk alongside my clients during one of the most difficult times in their lives,” Christy Morris shared. “My approach focuses on emphasizing the strengths each person brings and helping them to recognize and use those strengths to reach their personal goals throughout their grief journey.”
