Hosparus Health Barren River Hosts Resource Summit for Seniors on March 19

Resource event scheduled for March 19 to help seniors and family caregivers find services and support for optimal aging in the Barren River area.

(BOWLING GREEN, KY) — Hosparus Health, in collaboration with its palliative care brand, Pallitus Health Partners, Kentucky ElderLaw, PLLC, and Cone Funeral Home are sponsoring The Senior Resource Summit on Tuesday, March 19, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. (CST), at Broadway United Methodist Church, 1323 Melrose Street in Bowling Green. Members of the public are welcome to attend this free event where experts in the community showcase services and support available to older adults and their family caregivers.

“We recognize that many families with aging loved ones struggle silently, and often with frustration, unaware of the resources available for seniors and caregivers in our area,” said Hosparus Health Community Outreach Manager Kristen Roderick. “The Senior Resource Summit is an excellent opportunity for members of the community to come to one location and learn about dozens of local social service agencies and healthcare professionals.”

Hosparus Health has championed equitable healthcare access by delivering specialized programs and holistic services across the continuum for those facing serious illnesses since 1971. Its palliative care line, Pallitus Health Partners, provides wrap-around support for those with chronic conditions, such as cancer, heart failure, COPD, dementia, and Parkinson’s disease. Palliative care is appropriate at any stage of serious illness and can be provided along with treatments that are designed to cure and support chronic conditions, including chemotherapy.

Breakout Sessions
Hosparus Health and Pallitus Health Partners will lead a breakout session highlighting the specialized programming each provides for patients and families facing serious illnesses. The Hosparus Health Barren River team will be onsite to educate participants on the nonprofit organization’s team approach to person-centered, comprehensive care.

Cone Funeral Home General Manager Alexandria (Alex) Holt will lead a presentation about preplanning funeral arrangements and the peace of mind it can bring. Kentucky ElderLaw Attorney John Dotson will host a session addressing asset protection for seniors with considerations for long-term care planning, Medicaid, probate, and VA benefits.

Participants can register for door prizes, browse exhibitor booths, and explore local vendors representing healthcare, legal and financial services, senior living, and other social services available in the community.

“While it can be overwhelming, resources are available to help seniors and their family caregivers,” Roderick added. “Our goal is to connect families with the services and support they need to achieve the best quality of life possible.”
