Hosparus Health Western Kentucky to Host Service of Remembrance at Mahr Park Arboretum

Event offers reflection, community, and a shared meal for those grieving a loss

Hosparus Health Western Kentucky invites families, friends, and community members to gather for its annual Service of Remembrance on Tuesday, December 9, 6:00 p.m. at Mahr Park Arboretum, Event Barn A, 465 Mahr Park Road, Madisonville.

The service honors and celebrates the lives of Hosparus Health patients who have died, as well as their loved ones who entrusted the organization to walk alongside them in care. The evening will feature music, readings, and moments of reflection, followed by a chicken dinner with a vegetarian option available.

“In the season of gathering, the absence of those loved can be keenly felt,” said Marissa Wood, Bereavement Counselor at Hosparus Health Western Kentucky. “Our grief can unexpectedly make the significance and meaning of the holiday season more apparent and appreciated, keeping these special ones close and carrying them in heart and mind.”

All members of the community grieving the loss of someone are welcome to attend. Kindly respond by December 3 with the number of guests attending.

Grief Counseling Services
Hosparus Health’s grief services are provided at no cost to families of hospice patients for up to 13 months after a loss. For community members who did not receive hospice care, licensed counselors accept most major insurance plans. Sliding-scale fees and financial assistance are available.
