- Grief Counselor
Andrew Cook is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who brings a rich and varied background to his role at Hosparus Health. After graduating from the University of Louisville’s Kent School of Social Work in 2020, Andrew made a career change and joined Hosparus Health as a social worker, where he served nearly every community in the Louisville area. His extensive experience includes work in hospice inpatient units, local hospitals, and on the pediatric hospice and palliative care team, Kourageous Kids.
Andrew’s return to the Hosparus Health Grief Counseling Center in Louisville in the summer of 2024 felt like coming home, as he had previously completed his practicum there in 2019-2020. He takes a strengths-based approach to counseling, utilizing a mix of person-centered talk therapy, modified cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and narrative techniques. He also has a strong foundation in mindfulness and meditation.
Outside of work, Andrew enjoys hiking, playing music, reading, and spending time with his loved ones. He views grief as a natural and ultimately healing response to loss and is honored to walk with clients on their journey toward healing.
