Free, in-person NACG educational event offers CE credits for professionals supporting youth impacted by homicide loss

(LOUISVILLE, KY)Hosparus Health is proud to host a National Alliance for Children’s Grief (NACG) educational training, Trauma-Responsive Grief Support for Youth & Families Impacted by Homicide Deaths, on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. The free, in-person event* will take place at Hosparus Health, 6200 Dutchmans Lane, Louisville, KY 40205.

Designed for professionals who support grieving youth and families, this training will focus on trauma-responsive approaches following homicide loss. Attendees will gain practical tools and evidence-informed strategies to support children, adolescents, and caregivers navigating complex grief experiences.

The training will feature nationally recognized presenters Samantha Anthony, MS, LPC; Sam Middleton, MS; and Katherine Streit, MSW, LCSW, MSEd, who bring extensive experience working with youth, families, and communities impacted by traumatic loss. Through practical guidance and evidence-informed approaches, attendees will gain tools to respond to grief with greater sensitivity, cultural awareness, and care.

The event is open to professionals in mental health, education, social work, healthcare, hospice care, and bereavement support. Admission is free, but registration is required, as seating is limited.

*Continuing education credits are available:
Three (3.0) CE hours (ASWB, NBCC, NYSED) are available through the NACG for a $45 fee, with CE instructions provided at the end of the program.

As part of its mission-driven approach, Hosparus Health’s Grief Counseling provides compassionate grief counseling and support services to individuals of all ages coping with loss. Services include group support, individual and family grief services, and specialized programs for children and teens. Community members who did not receive hospice care through Hosparus Health may still access grief services through a sliding-scale fee structure, with financial assistance available.
