Care Guide Partners Celebrates National PACE Month
- News
Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) empowers seniors to remain independent at home with comprehensive support.
(LOUISVILLE, KY) — September is National PACE Month, and Care Guide Partners PACE, an affiliate of Hosparus Health, joins programs nationwide in celebrating. The program has served more than 110 local seniors in Bullitt, Grayson, Hardin, Hart, LaRue, and Nelson counties since opening the William B. and Janet B. Schmidt PACE Center in 2024.
At the PACE Center, participants receive coordinated care including primary medical services, physical and occupational therapy, dental and vision care, medications delivered in easy-to-use daily packets, social activities, nutritious meals, and reliable transportation. Home support services and wellness checks extend that care beyond the center’s walls, helping participants remain safe and independent in their own homes. As a result, 94 percent of PACE participants can continue living in their community rather than in an institutional setting.
“National PACE Month is an opportunity to show families how this unique model makes life easier and more meaningful for seniors,” said Judith Parsons, Site Director of Care Guide Partners PACE. “Our team coordinates every aspect of care, so participants and their loved ones don’t have to navigate the system alone.”
The theme of this year’s observance is #ThankYouPACE to honor the experiences of participants, caregivers and PACE staff and highlight the meaningful, personalized support that defines the PACE model of care.
Look at what the Care Guide Partners PACE Participants are saying about the program:
“You don’t have to be alone with PACE. You meet people, share stories, and have something to look forward to each day.” — Anna Case, joined PACE December 2024
“PACE helps with everything from my doctor appointments to meals and even household needs. It really adds up when you’re on a fixed income.” — PACE Participant
“Transportation is one of the best parts. They come right to my door, pick me up, and bring me back home. It makes me feel special.” — PACE Participant
Families of participants notice the difference too.
“PACE gave my mom her life back, and it’s given me peace of mind,” said Georgia Cross, whose mother joined the program in 2024. “I don’t know what we’d do without them. It’s a special place where they truly care about my mom and I.”
The importance of PACE continues to grow as the country approaches a major demographic milestone. By 2034, older adults will outnumber children for the first time in U.S. history. This shift presents challenges for older adults and their families, from access to affordable housing and caregiver support to workforce shortages, long-term care financing, and the need for technology that enables safety and independence. PACE provides unique solutions to address each of these challenges.
