These are just a few of the words many associate with hospice and palliative care. For me, they perfectly describe what happens when families invite Hosparus Health into their lives.

You see, compassion is not just found in our expert pain and symptom management — it’s in all the things people don’t expect. It’s what happens when our high-quality care comes together with the deep dedication of our incredible team who provides it.

  • Helping an estranged brother reconnect with his sister in his final days.
  • Offering counsel and support for the rollercoaster of emotions that serious illness brings, not only for the dad who is sick, but the children who love him.
  • Giving an exhausted husband a much needed break to shower and get out of the house.
  • Or helping a daughter to fulfill a bucket list wish for a tattoo in honor of her mom.

It’s touching moments like these — and the boundless gratitude expressed by the families who experience them — that brought me back to Hosparus, and why I am so honored to be its new President and CEO. This is a very special homecoming for me. My family’s roots are in the Louisville area, and I previously spent 15 wonderful years in operations here.

Hosparus Health is part of who I am, so no one understands our mission and legacy better than me. In my new role, I’m focused on preserving that legacy and building on it, so that more families navigating serious illness get the comfort and care they deserve.

I want you to know that it’s your support that allows us to create more moments for our patients and families. We can’t do it without you. This holiday season, please consider sharing your gratitude by making a gift.
A donation in any amount will help ensure all who need us have access to our compassionate care, regardless of their ability pay.
