Hosparus Health to Break Ground on Region’s First and Only Standalone Hospice Care Center

Construction to begin on the community’s first dedicated inpatient hospice facility, designed to offer comfort and dignity to patients and their families
WHAT: Hosparus Health will host a groundbreaking ceremony for its new Hospice Care Center, the first and only standalone hospice inpatient facility in the region. This state-of-the-art center will provide compassionate, expert care in a home-like setting for patients facing serious illness and their loved ones.
The nearly 30,000-square-foot facility will include 21 private patient suites, family gathering areas, a chapel, and tranquil outdoor spaces, creating a healing environment where families can spend meaningful time together. Located alongside the recently opened Grief Counseling Center, the new Hospice Care Center will create a centralized, comprehensive care campus to support patients and families at every stage of their journey.
The $20 million project is being funded primarily through philanthropy. Hosparus Health is encouraged by strong early support from the community, including milestone gifts from Republic Bank and the Republic Bank Foundation, Paula and Frank Harshaw, and the Legacy Foundation of Kentuckiana, and continues to engage donors and partners to bring this vital project to life.
