Meet Becky Tooker, President of Hosparus Health

A hospice leader shaped by clinical experience and a passion for supporting patients, families and care teams.
Hosparus Health is welcoming Rebecca “Becky” Tooker as President, bringing more than 25 years of leadership experience in hospice, home health and post-acute care.
She began her career as a nurse caring for pediatric hospice patients, an experience that continues to shape how she leads today.
“Hospice care is deeply personal work,” Tooker said. “My clinical background reminds me that every decision we make ultimately affects patients, families and the care teams who support them.”
As President, Tooker works closely with clinical and operational leaders to support patients and families facing serious illness across Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
A Career Dedicated to Hospice Care
Throughout her career, Tooker has focused on expanding access to hospice services while supporting the clinicians and care teams who make that work possible.
Most recently, she held a senior leadership role with St. Croix Hospice, where she oversaw statewide operations including clinical quality, regulatory compliance and performance improvement. In that role, she supported multiple care locations and helped guide the organization’s continued growth.
Earlier in her career, she was Regional President for Traditions Health in Texas, leading hospice and home health locations and supporting strategic expansion across the region.
Her leadership reflects a balance of clinical insight and operational experience, helping organizations grow while maintaining a strong focus on patient-centered care.
Leading the Next Chapter at Hosparus Health
Stephanie Livers, chair of the Hosparus Health Board of Directors, said Tooker’s experience and leadership style made her the right choice to help guide the organization forward.
“Becky brings a thoughtful leadership approach and a deep understanding of hospice care,” Livers said. “Her experience supporting strong care teams and guiding growing organizations makes her the right leader to help Hosparus Health continue serving patients and families across our region.”
Her arrival also supports a leadership structure that allows David W. Cook to continue serving as Chief Executive Officer of Hosparus Health while leading Everent Health, the parent organization supporting Hosparus Health and Bluegrass Care Navigators.
Together, this leadership team will continue advancing Hosparus Health’s mission to improve the quality of life for patients and families facing serious illness.
A New Chapter in Louisville
Tooker and her husband, Travis, enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, pottery and international travel.
As she begins her role, Tooker said she looks forward to meeting the employees, volunteers and community partners who make the organization’s mission possible.
“I’m excited to get to know the people who make Hosparus Health such a special place,” she said. “The dedication and compassion of this team are what make the work so meaningful.”
